 1        AN ACT concerning municipalities.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The Illinois  Municipal  Code  is  amended  by
 5    adding Section 10.1 as follows:

 6        (65 ILCS 5/11-141-10.1 new)
 7        Sec.   11-141-10.1.  Annexation  of  territory  including
 8    township sewerage system. If a municipality annexes  part  or
 9    all  of the territory in which a township operates a sewerage
10    system, the corporate authorities of the  municipality  shall
11    assume responsibility for that portion of the sewerage system
12    within the annexed territory.

13        Section  99.  Effective  date. This Act takes effect upon
14    becoming law.
