 1        AN ACT concerning state employee health benefits.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The State Employees Group  Insurance  Act  of
 5    1971 is amended by adding Section 6.15 as follows:

 6        (5 ILCS 375/6.15 new)
 7        Sec.  6.15.  Alcohol  and  other drug addiction treatment
 8    benefits.  The  program  of  health  benefits  shall  include
 9    benefits for treatment of alcohol and other  drug  addiction.
10    The benefits provided for treatment of alcohol and other drug
11    addiction  may  not permit treatment limitations or financial
12    requirements on the benefits for  treatment  of  alcohol  and
13    other  drug  addiction  if  similar  limitations or financial
14    requirements are not imposed on  benefits  for  treatment  of
15    other conditions.
