 1        AN ACT in relation to child support.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Illinois  Public Aid Code is amended by
 5    adding Section 10-3.5 as follows:

 6        (305 ILCS 5/10-3.5 new)
 7        Sec. 10-3.5.  Time for locating responsible relative.  If
 8    a custodial parent who is receiving child support enforcement
 9    services under this Article provides the Department of Public
10    Aid  with credible information concerning the location of the
11    putative father or noncustodial  parent  of  the  child,  the
12    Department  must  attempt  to  locate  the putative father or
13    noncustodial parent  within  60  days  after  receiving  that
14    information.

15        Section  99.  Effective  date. This Act takes effect upon
16    becoming law.
