 1        AN ACT concerning elections.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Election  Code  is  amended by changing
 5    Section 24A-1 as follows:

 6        (10 ILCS 5/24A-1) (from Ch. 46, par. 24A-1)
 7        Sec. 24A-1. Purpose. The purpose of this  Article  is  to
 8    authorize  the  use  of  voting systems approved by the State
 9    Board of Elections in which the voter records  his  votes  by
10    means  of  marking or punching a ballot or one or more ballot
11    cards, which are so designed that votes will  be  counted  by
12    data processing machines at one or more counting places.
