 1        AN ACT concerning employment.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.   The  Illinois  Municipal Code is amended by
 5    adding Section 11-74.4-2.5 as follows:

 6        (65 ILCS 5/11-74.4-2.5 new)
 7        Sec.  11-74.4-2.5.  Union  labor   preference.   In   the
 8    employment   and   appointment  to  fill  positions  for  any
 9    redevelopment project  undertaken  or  contracted  for  by  a
10    municipality  under  this  Division 74.4, preference shall be
11    given to persons who are members of  a  labor  union  and  to
12    apprentices in those labor unions.
