 1        AN ACT making appropriations.

 2        Be it  enacted  by  the  People  of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4                              ARTICLE 1

 5        Section  5.  The  following  named amounts, or so much of
 6    those  amounts  as  may  be  necessary,   respectively,   are
 7    appropriated  to the Office of the State's Attorney Appellate
 8    Prosecutor for the objects and purposes hereinafter named  to

27    Fund  to  the  Office of the State Appellate Prosecutor for a
28    grant to  the  Cook  County  State's  Attorney  for  expenses
29    incurred in filing appeals in Cook County.

31        Section  5.  The  following  named amounts, or so much of
32    those amounts as may  be  necessary,  respectively,  for  the

 7        Section  15.  The  following named amounts, or so much of
 8    those amounts as may  be  necessary,  respectively,  for  the
 9    objects  and purposes named in this Section, are appropriated
10    to the Office of the State Appellate  Defender  for  expenses
11    related  to federally assisted programs to work on sex crimes
12    and crimes against the family  appeals  cases  to  which  the
13    agency  is  appointed,  to  provide  statewide  training  and
14    services  to  Illinois  Public  Defenders, and to enhance the
15    capability  of  public  defenders  in   rural   counties   to
16    effectively  represent  their  clients  in appropriate cases,
17    making available expert witnesses and investigative  services
18    to them:

25        Section 20.  The amount of $2,728,000, or so much thereof
26    as  may  be  necessary,  is  appropriated  from  the  Capital
27    Litigation  Trust  Fund  to the Office of the State Appellate
28    Defender for expenses incurred  in  providing  assistance  to
29    trial attorneys under subdivision (c)(5) of Section 10 of the
30    State Appellate Defender Act.

31        Section  25.  The  amount of $157,000, or so much thereof
32    as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue

 1    Fund to the  Office  of  the  State  Appellate  Defender  for
 2    expenses  incurred  to  operate  the  Expungement Information
 3    Program.

23        Section  99.   Effective  date.  This Act takes effect on
24    July 1, 2003.
