 1        AN ACT concerning business transactions.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Home Repair and Remodeling Act is amended
 5    by changing Section 15 as follows:

 6        (815 ILCS 513/15)
 7        Sec. 15.  Written contract;  costs  enumerated;  business
 8    name  and  address.    Prior  to  initiating  home  repair or
 9    remodeling work for over $1,000,  a  person  engaged  in  the
10    business  of  home  repair or remodeling shall furnish to the
11    customer for signature a written contract or work order  that
12    states  the  total cost, including parts and materials listed
13    with reasonable particularity and any charge for an estimate.
14    In addition, the contract shall state the business  name  and
15    address  of the person engaged in the business of home repair
16    or remodeling.  If the person engaged in the business of home
17    repair or remodeling uses a post office box or mail receiving
18    service  or  agent  to  receive  home  repair  or  remodeling
19    business correspondence, the contract also  shall  state  the
20    residence  address  of  the person engaged in the business of
21    home repair or remodeling.
