 1        AN ACT in relation to transportation.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  1.  Short  title.   This Act may be cited as the
 5    Melrose Park Debt Forgiveness Act.

 6        Section 5. The Secretary of Transportation is  authorized
 7    to  forgive  a  debt in the amount of $540,546.39 incurred by
 8    the Village of Melrose Park in connection  with  an  Illinois
 9    Transportation  Enhancement  Program  grant  to improve North
10    Avenue, Local Project Section 00-00100-000LS.

11        Section 99. Effective Date. This Act  takes  effect  upon
12    becoming law.
