SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth D. "Ken" "Tex" Sitler of Moline, who passed away on January 8, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Ken Sitler was born in Wellman, Iowa to Raymond Benton and Elsie Maude Amlong Sitler on April 16, 1927; he served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War; he married Donna Florence Swales in Moline on June 18, 1951; and

WHEREAS, Ken Sitler worked as a machinist and then as a toolmaker for International Harvester, Rock Island Arsenal, and John Deere; he was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists; and

WHEREAS, Ken Sitler enjoyed woodworking and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Ken Sitler was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna; his brothers, Carrol and Galen; and his sister, Catherine; and

WHEREAS, Ken Sitler is survived by his sons, John (Karen) Sitler, Gary Sitler, and Ed (Sharon) Sitler; his grandchildren, Shawn (Nancy) Sitler and Mathew (Kaitlin) Sitler; and his great-grandchildren, Trisia, Alex, Malachi, and Ezra; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth D. "Ken" "Tex" Sitler and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ken Sitler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
