SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth D. "Ken" "Tex" Sitler of Moline,
4who passed away on January 8, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ken Sitler was born in Wellman, Iowa to Raymond
6Benton and Elsie Maude Amlong Sitler on April 16, 1927; he
7served in the United States Army during World War II and the
8Korean War; he married Donna Florence Swales in Moline on June
918, 1951; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ken Sitler worked as a machinist and then as a
11toolmaker for International Harvester, Rock Island Arsenal,
12and John Deere; he was a proud member of the International
13Association of Machinists; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ken Sitler enjoyed woodworking and fishing; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ken Sitler was preceded in death by his parents;
16his wife, Donna; his brothers, Carrol and Galen; and his
17sister, Catherine; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ken Sitler is survived by his sons, John (Karen)
19Sitler, Gary Sitler, and Ed (Sharon) Sitler; his grandchildren,
20Shawn (Nancy) Sitler and Mathew (Kaitlin) Sitler; and his

1great-grandchildren, Trisia, Alex, Malachi, and Ezra;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Kenneth D. "Ken" "Tex" Sitler and extend our sincere
6condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7him; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ken Sitler as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
