SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rupert R. "Pete" Campos of Moline, who
4passed away on January 15, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pete Campos was born in Moline to Nieves and
6Consuelo (Soto) Campos on June 23, 1929 and raised by his
7mother and stepfather, Raymond Campos; he married Sarah Castel
8in Davenport, Iowa on November 6, 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Pete Campos retired from the Rock Island Arsenal;
10he previously worked at International Harvester and Colt
11Industries; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Pete Campos was a member of Sacred Heart Church
13and Catholic Order of Foresters Sacred Heart Court 1691; he was
14a charter member of VFW Post 8890 in East Moline; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Pete Campos was preceded in death by his daughter,
16Cynthia; his sisters, Esther Villarreal, Sally Perez, and Mary
17Ellen Campos; and his brothers, Raymond, Ricky, and Rudy
18Campos; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Pete Campos is survived by his wife, Sarah; his
20sons, Rupert, Steve, Tom (Adrienne), Mark (Carolyn), and David

1(Melissa) Campos; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
2and his brother, Jesse Campos; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Rupert R. "Pete" Campos and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Pete Campos as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
