HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Railettes Dance Team of Lincoln Community High School on winning the 2020 Illinois Drill Team Association Class AA Pom State Championship; and

WHEREAS, On February 15th, 2020, the Railettes joined over 100 other Junior High, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams in a 12 hour competition, finishing 1st place in their division; and

WHEREAS, The Railettes won their championship with their 1950s diner waitress routine, featuring the song "At the Hop"; and

WHEREAS, The Railettes were led by their coach, Brande Montgomery, who after 10 years of devoted service retired at the end of the season; and

WHEREAS, The Railettes were assisted by managers Abbi Montgomery and Kambrea McCree; and

WHEREAS, The Railettes are Emma Boyd, Madeline Cook, Bayleigh Gillum, Julie Guzzardo, Mia Hullinger, Makayla Koehne, Rachel Morrow, Lydia Roland, and Emma Stoltzenburg; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Railettes Dance Team of Lincoln Community High School on winning the 2020 Illinois Drill Team Association Class AA Pom State Championship, and we hold them up as models of hard work, dedication, and team spirit; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Coach Brande Montgomery and Lincoln Community High School Principal Todd Poelker as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
