SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
720 ILCS 5/24.8-3

    Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning permissive possession of an air rifle by a person under 13 years of age.

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Criminal Code of 2012 is amended by changing
5Section 24.8-3 as follows:
 
6    (720 ILCS 5/24.8-3)
7    Sec. 24.8-3. Permissive possession of an air rifle by a
8person under 13 years of age. Notwithstanding any provision of
9this Article, it is lawful for any person under 13 years of age
10to have in his or her possession any air rifle if it is:
11        (1) Kept within his or her house of residence or other
12    private enclosure;
13        (2) Used by the the person and he or she is a duly
14    enrolled member of any club, team or society organized for
15    educational purposes and maintaining as part of its
16    facilities or having written permission to use an indoor or
17    outdoor rifle range under the supervision guidance and
18    instruction of a responsible adult and then only if the air
19    rifle is actually being used in connection with the
20    activities of the club team or society under the
21    supervision of a responsible adult; or
22        (3) Used in or on any private grounds or residence
23    under circumstances when the air rifle is fired, discharged

1    or operated in a manner as not to endanger persons or
2    property and then only if it is used in a manner as to
3    prevent the projectile from passing over any grounds or
4    space outside the limits of the grounds or residence.
