Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Toll Bridge Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
605 ILCS 115/0.01from Ch. 137, par. 0.01
Adds reference to:
625 ILCS 5/11-1432 new

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a driver may not hold an animal in his or her lap while operating a motor vehicle.

Deletes reference to:
605 ILCS 115/0.01from Ch. 137, par. 0.01
Adds reference to:
625 ILCS 5/11-1432 new
725 ILCS 5/108-1from Ch. 38, par. 108-1

Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the provisions of Senate Amendment No. 1. Provides that a person who violates the Section concerning animals in drivers' laps is guilty of a petty offense and subject to a fine not to exceed $25. Provides that a law enforcement officer may not stop or search a motor vehicle, its contents, the driver, or a passenger solely because of a violation or suspected violation of the Section concerning animals in drivers' laps. Makes a corresponding change in the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963.
