Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Counties Code. Provides that a county board shall name (currently, may name) any street, lane, road or highway, and shall regulate (currently, may regulate) the numbering of buildings and lots adjacent to any street, lane, road or highway. Provides that no change in name or numbering shall be effective until 30 days after the following entities having jurisdiction over the area are notified: (1) election authorities; (2) post office branch; and (3) 9-1-1 system. Requires the change in name or numbering to be effective no less than 30 days prior to any election. Makes similar changes in the Illinois Municipal Code.
