Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act. Provides that beginning January 1, 2009, "covered prescription drug" includes any prescription drug used in treating the effects of multiple sclerosis (instead of providing that the term includes any prescription drug used in the treatment of multiple sclerosis). Effective immediately.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that neither the Governor nor any agency or agency head under the jurisdiction of the Governor has any rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion.

 Cost is estimated at $260,000 in FY09 and $545,000 in FY10. Cost is 100% State.
