Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Provides that any licensee, employee of an express company, common carrier, or contract carrier may confiscate suspected false or fraudulent evidence of age or identity for submission to law enforcement personnel to make a determination of the validity of the identification and have no criminal or civil liability for the confiscation of evidence of age or identity that he or she reasonably believed was false or fraudulent.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Adds reference to:
235 ILCS 5/6-16from Ch. 43, par. 131

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Replaces with the bill as introduced with the following changes. Provides that any licensee or his or her agent, employee, or representative (rather than any licensee or his or her agent, employee, or representative or the agent or employee of an express company, common carrier, or contract carrier) may confiscate suspected false or fraudulent evidence of age and identity and shall have no criminal or civil liability, except for willful or wanton misconduct (rather than no conduct standard), for the confiscation of an identification reasonably believed to be false or fraudulent.
