Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that a person commits arson when, by means of fire or explosive and as a result of manufacturing or attempting to manufacture a controlled substance in violation of State law, he or she negligently damages any building or property. Provides that a person who commits this type of arson is guilty of a Class X felony if the arson results in the death or injury of any firefighter, police officer, or emergency medical personnel.
