Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Pension Code. Allows transfer of law enforcement service credits from a downstate police pension fund or the Cook County pension fund to the Chicago police pension fund. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately.

 Pension Note (Pension Laws Commission)
 The fiscal impact of HB 2240 cannot be determined. There may be a fiscal impact to the Chicago Police Pension Fund, if the transferred and required employee contributions do not cover the entire cost of the service credit established in the Fund.
