Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Lead Poisoning Prevention Act. Imposes a fee of $0.02 on every rental of a videotape or video disc in this State. Provides for deposit of the collected fees into a special account in the Lead Poisoning Screening, Prevention, and Abatement Fund. Provides that beginning July 1, 2004, moneys in the special account shall be appropriated to the Department of Public Health for the purpose of funding a program to provide lead poisoning screening for women who are (i) determined to reside in an area defined as high risk by the Department, (ii) age 13 or older, and (iii) either pregnant or lactating.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Lead Poisoning Prevention Act. Provides that, subject to appropriations or other available funding, the Department of Public Health shall establish a program to provide lead poisoning screening for women who are (i) determined to reside in an area defined as high risk by the Department, (ii) age 13 or older, and (iii) either pregnant or lactating.

 Fiscal Note (Treasurer Of The State Of Illinois)
 HB 197 will not have an effect on the State Treasurer's budget.
