Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State may suspend or revoke the registration of a vehicle or a certificate of title, registration card, registration sticker, registration plate, disability parking decal or device, or any nonresident or other permit when the Secretary has determined that a vehicle was used in violation of provisions of the Criminal Code of 1961 concerning firearms or in the commission of any felony under the law of any state or the federal government in which a firearm was used.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 2
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State may suspend or revoke the registration of a vehicle when a court finds that the vehicle was used in a violation of a provision of the Criminal Code of 1961 concerning gunrunning for a period of up to 90 days. Effective January 1, 2012.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Eliminates the authority of the Secretary of State to revoke the registration of a vehicle used in the commission of the offense of gunrunning.
