Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Makes a technical change in the short title Section.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Creates the Abusive Work Environment Act. Makes findings. Defines "abusive conduct" and "abusive work environment". Provides that it is unlawful to subject an employee to an abusive work environment or to retaliate against an employee who filed an action or participated in any proceeding under the Act. Provides for employer liability; affirmative defenses; and injunctive and other relief for the employee. Provides that the Act is enforceable by a civil action that is brought no later than one year after the last act of abuse. Provides that the Act's remedies are not to duplicate workers' compensation remedies. Includes other provisions.
