Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Uniform Arbitration Act. Provides that no agreement to arbitrate any liability arising out of the employment of a seaman, master, vessel crew member, or railroad employee is binding or enforceable. Effective immediately.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Further amends the Uniform Arbitration Act. Provides that an agreement or contract provision to submit a controversy to arbitration is valid, except that no agreement to arbitrate any liability associated with or arising out of the employment of any seaman, master, or member of the crew of any vessel (instead of any seaman, master, or member of the crew of any vessel or railroad employee) is binding or enforceable.
