Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Includes, in the offense of aggravated battery, committing a battery against hospital personnel (rather than hospital emergency room personnel) engaged in their official duties, committing a battery to prevent them from performing their official duties, or committing a battery in retaliation for performing their official duties. Effective immediately.

 Judicial Note (Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts)
 House Bill 249 amends the Criminal Code of 1961 with respect to the offense of aggravated battery. Based on a review of the bill, it has been determined that House Bill 249 would neither increase nor decrease the number of judges needed in the state.

 Fiscal Note (Office of the Attorney General)
 HB 249 has no Fiscal Impact.
