Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the School Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning alternative teacher certification.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Deletes reference to:
105 ILCS 5/21-5c
Adds reference to:
105 ILCS 5/21B-27 new

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Educator Licensure Article of the School Code. Allows the State Educator Preparation and Licensure Board to issue a provisional certificate valid for teaching in early childhood, elementary school, high school, or special subject fields, for providing services as school service personnel, or for administering schools. Allows the State Board to issue a provisional vocational certificate and a temporary provisional vocational certificate. Requires the Board to issue part-time provisional certificates to eligible individuals who are professionals and craftsmen. Sets forth conditions and requirements concerning these certificates. Effective July 1, 2013.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Educator Licensure Article of the School Code. Allows a part-time provisional career and technical educator endorsement on an Educator License with Stipulations to be issued under certain circumstances to an applicant who has a minimum of 8,000 hours of work experience in the skill for which the applicant is seeking the endorsement. Provides that the endorsement may be issued for teaching no more than 2 courses of study for grades 6 through 12. Provides that the endorsement is valid until June 30 immediately following 5 years of the endorsement being issued and may be renewed for 5 years if the individual makes application for renewal; makes a related change. Effective July 1, 2013.
