Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Children and Family Services Act. Provides that the Department of Children and Family Services may continue to provide financial assistance and education assistance grants for a child who was determined eligible for financial assistance in the interim period beginning when the child's adoptive parents died and ending with the finalization of the new adoption assistance agreement for the child with another adoptive parent or parents.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that the Department of Children and Family Services may, subject to federal financial participation in the cost, continue to provide financial assistance and education assistance grants for a child who was determined eligible for financial assistance in the interim period beginning when the child's adoptive parents died and ending with the finalization of the new adoption (instead of new adoption assistance agreements) of the child by another adoptive parent or parents.
