House Committee Amendment No. 1
Specifies that the purpose of the Illinois Long-Term Care Council is to ensure that consumers over the age of 60 (now, just consumers) receive high quality long-term care. Removes a representative of Equip for Equality as a non-voting member of the Council.

House Committee Amendment No. 2
Deletes everything. Re-inserts the provisions of the bill, as amended, but makes changes concerning the membership and duties of the Long-Term Care Council. Provides that the Director of the Department on Aging shall appoint at least 10 but no more than 15 members to the Council (instead of 7 voting members) and that the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman shall appoint at least 5 but no more than 10 members to the Council (instead of 8 voting members). Removes a provision giving the Council oversight responsibilities regarding the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program's compliance with State and federal laws. Provides that the Governor may (instead of shall) make his or her appointment to the position of State Long-Term Care Ombudsman from among candidates recommended by the Council. Makes other changes. Effective immediately.
