Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that the Director of Insurance is authorized to require fingerprints of applicants for licensing and renewal applicants (now, applicants). Provides that an individual who applies for a public adjuster license who was previously licensed as a public adjuster in another state based on a public adjuster examination shall not be required to complete any examination (instead of any prelicensing education). Effective immediately.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Adds reference to:
215 ILCS 5/500-155 new

Further amends the Illinois Insurance Code to set forth a provision concerning disclosure. Provides that a policy the solicitation of which involves an insurance producer, limited insurance representative, or temporary insurance producer must identify the name of the producer, representative, or firm. Provides that an individual life or accident and health application and a master policy application for life or accident and health group coverages must bear the name and signature of the licensee who solicited and wrote the application.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes provisions concerning the Director of Insurance's authorization to require fingerprints of applicants. Provides instead that in order to make a determination of license eligibility, the Director is authorized to require all applicants for licensing, including renewal applicants, to undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history record check for the first year following the effective date of the Amendatory Act. Sets forth provisions concerning records and fees for conducting the criminal history record check.
