Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Public Utilities Act. Makes a technical change in the short title Section.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
220 ILCS 5/1-101
Adds reference to:
220 ILCS 5/8-104

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Public Utilities Act. Deletes language providing that certain customers that have not already been approved by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity may apply to be designated a self-directing customer or exempt customer, on a form approved by the Department, between September 1, 2013 and September 30, 2013 and that customer applications that are approved by the Department under Public Act 98-225 shall be considered to be a self-directing customer or exempt customer, as applicable, for the current 3-year planning period effective December 1, 2013. Provides instead that certain customers that were approved by the Department in February 2013 shall be considered to be a self-directing customer or exempt customer, as applicable, for the current 3-year planning period effective December 1, 2013.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that certain customers that applied to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity on January 3, 2013, were approved by the Department on February 13, 2013, and receive natural gas from a utility that provides gas service to at least 500,000 retail customers and electric service to at least 1,000,000 retail customers in Illinois shall be considered to be a self-directing customer or exempt customer, as applicable, for the current 3-year planning period effective December 1, 2013. Effective immediately.
