Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department to track and report monthly concerning Illinois' share of federal stimulus spending enacted in response to the economic recession that began in December 2007. Requires recommendations to maximize Illinois' share. Sets forth the requirements of the reports. Requires a final report at the conclusion of the federal stimulus packages or December 31, 2014, whichever occurs first. Repeals the provisions on January 1, 2015. Effective immediately.

New Act

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Creates the Federal Stimulus Tracking Act. Requires the Office of the Governor, or a designated State agency, to track and report the State's spending of federal stimulus moneys. Sets forth the requirements of monthly reports. Requires that a final report be available online at the conclusion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act program or December 31, 2014, whichever occurs first. Provides that the General Assembly may by resolution request that specific data, findings, or analyses be included in a monthly report. Provides that the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability shall provide the Governor's Office technical, analytical, and substantive assistance in preparing the requested data, findings, or analyses. Repeals the Act on January 1, 2015. Effective immediately.
