Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a case involving an alleged violation of driving under the influence may not be dismissed due to an error by the arresting officer or clerk of the court in setting a person's first appearance date.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that in any case alleging a violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code or similar local ordinance which would be chargeable as a misdemeanor, a case shall not be dismissed due to an error by the arresting officer or the clerk of the court, or both, in setting a person's first appearance date, subject to the right of speedy trial.
