Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that except for specified purposes, no person may use a wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle within 500 feet of an emergency scene where an authorized emergency vehicle is present and making use of audible or visual signals. Adds digital photographs and video to the definition of "electronic message" in provisions prohibiting the use of electronic communication devices while operating a motor vehicle.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
625 ILCS 5/12-610.1

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a person operating a motor vehicle on a roadway may not take a digital photograph or video within 500 feet of an emergency scene where an authorized emergency vehicle is present and making use of audible or visual signals.
