Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Truth in Taxation Law of the Property Tax Code. Provides that the required notice of the public hearing on a proposed tax levy must state the dollar amount of the final aggregate levy as extended, plus the amount abated by the taxing district prior to the extension (now, dollar amount) of the property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for the preceding year.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Provides that the truth in taxation notice with respect to taxation for debt service and public building commission leases must state the property taxes extended or abated (now only extended) for the preceding year for those purposes. Provides that the amount stated shall be the dollar amount extended for those purposes (underlying bill, the dollar amount of the final aggregate levy as extended), plus the amount abated by the taxing district prior to the extension. Provides that the notice for estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for the current year shall state the dollar amount of the estimated levy for those purposes (underlying bill, dollar amount of the aggregate levy).
