Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that each (rather than for each of the years 2003 through 2008, each electric utility) electric utility as defined in Section 16-102 of this Act providing service to more than 12,500 customers in this State on January 1, 1995 shall contribute annually a pro rata share of a total amount of $5,500,000 based upon the number of kilowatt-hours delivered to retail customers within this State by each such electric utility in the 12 months preceding the year of contribution. Removes a repeal date of January 1, 2009 for specified provisions. Effective immediately.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the introduced bill with the following change: instead of removing the repeal date of the provisions, the repeal date was changed from January 1, 2009 to January 1, 2014.
