Illinois General Assembly - Bill Status for EO1813

Provides that the Department of Transportation shall lead an Autonomous Illinois Initiative to promote the development, testing, and deployment of Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) technologies and related infrastructure and data needs. Sets forth the components of the Initiative. Provides that the Department shall administer the Autonomous Illinois Testing Program to facilitate legal testing and programs on public roads and collect and maintain up-to-date information on CAV technologies. Sets forth conditions for voluntary participation in the Program. Provides that the Department shall file reports with the Governor on the status of the Program and specifies the contents of the reports. Provides that the Department retains the authority to suspend an entity's participation in the Program under specified circumstances. Contains provisions regarding: savings; prior executive orders; severability; and other matters. Effective immediately.
