Synopsis As Introduced
Establishes the Governor's Office of the Illinois Bicentennial, headed by an Executive Director appointed by the Governor, to develop and implement a statewide program to celebrate the bicentennial of the State of Illinois. Sets forth duties and functions of the Office. Rescinds Executive Order 7 (2014), abolishes the State Bicentennial Commission established by Executive Order 7 (2014), and transfers records, property, associated items, unexpended balances, and any employees of the abolished Commission to the Office. Creates the Illinois Bicentennial Commission to advise and assist the Office in planning and implementing the State's bicentennial celebration. Dissolves the Illinois Bicentennial Commission on December 31, 2018. Contains provisions regarding: membership; meetings; donations; severability; savings; and other matters. Effective immediately.
