Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Illinois Pet Advocacy Task Force to conduct a comprehensive review of Illinois' laws and regulations relating to: animal cruelty and welfare; and retailers, breeders, animal control facilities, and shelters, including related reporting requirements. Requires the Task Force to review current practices related to animal shelter rescue efforts, spay/neuter programs, and State funding for the enforcement of pet welfare laws and regulations. Requires the Task Force to report its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly within 12 months. Effective immediately.
