Housing Affordability Impact Note, House Floor Amendment No. 3 (Housing Development Authority)
Municipalities continue to need administrative tools to assist them in carrying out foreclosure mitigation activities, particularly those involving abandoned residential properties. While this bill permits these local governments to recoup their costs for securing property as well as demolition via a lien on that property, it is not possible to compute a fiscal impact of such actions, as the type and level will vary between municipalities, as will the costs, and if/how these get passed on to the next homebuyer (assuming there is a home remaining on the property).
