SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ed Hall of Harvard, who passed away on
4March 15, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ed Hall was born to Fred and Dorothy (Frizzell)
6Hall on September 3, 1953; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ed Hall was an accomplished musician; he was a
8guitar teacher, a prolific performer throughout the Midwest,
9and a producer of 206 shows at the Woodstock Opera House over
10the past 35 years; aside from his solo work, he was half of the
11group "Friedlander and Hall" from 1973 to the present; he was
12also the guitar player for the Celtic-Eclectic Folk Band
13"Trillium"; in 1991, he won the National Fingerpicking Guitar
14Championship; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ed Hall was very proud to be an Eagle Scout; he
16was an avid canoer, marathon runner, and competitive tennis
17player; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ed Hall was preceded in death by his parents and
19his father-in-law, Albert Vanderstappen; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ed Hall is survived by his loving wife of 19

1years, Debbie Hall; his sons, Ethan (Elisa) Hall and Skyler
2Hall (Nisi Rockcastle); his grandsons, Arlo and Everette, with
3another grandchild on the way; his brother, Ken (Diana) Hall;
4his niece, Sarah Hall; his nephew, Ben Hall; his mother-in-law,
5Mary Vanderstappen; his sisters-in-law, Joan (Terry) Ward and
6Anita Turner; his nephew, Stuart (Jill) Turner; his nieces,
7Vanessa (Tim) McCalla and Ginny Turner; and his grandnephews
8and nieces, Brooklyn, Brody, Alyssa, Jack, and another on the
9way; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Ed Hall, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Ed Hall as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
