SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ken M. Christy, who passed away on March
426, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ken Christy was born to Ken and Carmella
6(DeGrazia) Christy on September 18, 1944; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ken Christy was employed by the Aurora Post Office
8as a letter carrier for over 35 years; he also served as Aurora
9Township Clerk; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ken Christy was past President of National
11Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Union Local 219; he was
12most recently the President of the NALC for the State of
13Illinois; he was very involved in politics, volunteering, and
14raising money for many charities; he was always willing to
15provide a helping hand; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ken Christy was preceded in death by his parents;
17his sisters, Charmaine Pliska and Margaret Chase; and his
18brother, Lawrence Christy; and his brother-in-law, Ed Pliska;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ken Christy is survived by his wife of 52 years,

1Bonnie; his three daughters, Kristin (Dion) Hadley, Kathleen
2(Ken) Steil, and Karrie (Dave) Campbell; his five
3grandchildren, Sara Steil, Ken Steil III, Michael Squires,
4Jennifer Steil, and Ally Hadley; his brother-in-law, Mike
5Chase; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Ken M. Christy, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Ken Christy as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
