SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Perry Coleman, Jr. of Waukegan, who
4passed away on May 20, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Perry Coleman, Jr. was born on October 14, 1942 in
6Birmingham, Alabama; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Perry Coleman, Jr. retired from the Lake County
8Sheriff's Department in 2005 after 37 1/2 years of service; he
9is celebrated as being the first African-American Deputy
10Sheriff of Lake County; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Perry Coleman, Jr. is survived by his loving wife,
12Wyonia Coleman; a daughter, Sheryl Eileen Shelby; 2
13grandchildren, April Coleman and Justin Coleman; 4
14great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ingram; a brother, Willie
15James Coleman; 4 step-daughters; 4 step-grandchildren; 2
16uncles; 3 brothers-in-law; 3 sisters-in-law; and many other
17family members, friends, and co-workers; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
20family and friends, mourn the passing of Perry Coleman, Jr.;
21and be it further
