SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marvin Le Roy McDonald of Danville, who
4passed away on May 22, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald was born on April 1, 1936 to Harry
6and Norma (nee Baker) McDonald; he graduated from Shelbyville
7High School and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; he
8married Mary Jo Dunavan on December 27, 1959; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald worked in education for over 30
10years, beginning as a high school agriculture and biology
11teacher for one year; he was a high school principal at
12Chrisman Manteno Chenoa High School; he retired from
13Bismarck-Henning High School; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald was a member of Old Union Church
15of Christ, later becoming a charter member of CrossRoads
16Christian Church; he was a Master Gardener and enjoyed planting
17and being in his garden; he was a member of the Illinois Kennel
18Club, a leader with 4-H, and a member of the Bismarck Lions
19Club; he was a faithful Cardinals fan and loved the Illini, but
20he was most proud of all Bismarck Henning High School events;

1    WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald was preceded in death by Don and
2Soni Dunavan; his parents; and his 2 brothers Lyle and Marion;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald is survived by his wife, Mary; his
5son, Scott (Leslie) McDonald; his daughter, Karen (Marc)
6Holycross; his grandson, Jacob Holycross; his granddaughter,
7Stephanie (Doug) Lampley; his 2 great-grandchildren, Sydney
8and Gretchen; his brother, Delmar (Jane) McDonald; his 4
9sisters, Ilene (Lester) Whitlatch, Irene (Clarence) Schmitz,
10Mildred (Al) Reed, and Ruby (Dick) Hamilton; his
11brother-in-law, Dan (Kathy) Dunavan; and his 2 sisters-in-law,
12Dorothy and Shirley McDonald; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Marvin Le Roy McDonald, and extend our sincere condolences to
16his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Marvin McDonald as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
