SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Riki L. Dial, Sr. of Decatur, who passed
4away on November 23, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Riki Dial, Sr. was born in Decatur on September 9,
61951 to Delmar Eugene and Betty June (nee Lawrence) Dial; he
7married Brenda J. Mattingly on February 21, 1969 in St.
8Charles, Missouri; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Riki Dial, Sr. worked for Laborers Local #159 in
10Decatur; he was a member of the Laborers Hall and was a past
11Executive Committee member; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Riki Dial, Sr. was a veteran of the United States
13Army; he enjoyed attending the Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day
14event at the Decatur Conference Center; he was an avid fan of
15the Chicago Cubs and loved to go fishing and mushroom hunting;
16he was a proud supporter of the Wild Dog Saloon; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Riki Dial, Sr. was preceded in death by his
18parents; his brother, David; and his nieces, Tracy Berg and
19Crystal Aubert; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Riki Dial, Sr. is survived by his wife, Brenda;

1his son Riki L. Dial, Jr. (Shawn); his daughter, Shannon Dial;
2his grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Konya, Cassi Scott, Amanda
3Dial, Nathan Stewart, and Emily Dial; his brother, Michael
4(Joy) Dial; his sister, Delrene (Gary) Berg; and his beloved
5nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Riki L. Dial, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Riki L. Dial, Sr. as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
