HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dr.
4Harold T. Pye, who passed away on March 21, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Harold Pye was born on April 7, 1958 in
6Chicago; his parents were Harold and Anna Pye; he married Gail
7Frances Claudette Evans on September 5, 1987; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dr. Harold Pye confessed his faith in Jesus Christ
9as a child at Fellowship Baptist Church, where he was baptized
10by Rev. Dr. Clay Evans; he also taught in the Fellowship Bible
11Academy; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Harold Pye graduated from Chicago Vocational
13High School and continued his education at Chicago State
14University; after serving in the United States Army Reserve
15during his undergraduate years and in the United States Navy
16while working on his medical degree, he attended Temple
17University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated
18with honors; he later did his internship at Bethesda Naval
19Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dr. Harold Pye founded HTP Associates in 2004,
21using the accommodations at Fellowship Baptist Church as his

1office; in 2006, he built a state-of-the-art building at 11012
2South Western Avenue in Chicago; he also partnered with other
3physical therapists in his profession to expand his service to
4the community and the City of Chicago; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Harold Pye is survived by his wife of 28
6years, Gail Claudette; his mother, Minister Anna Wilkins; his
7brothers, Michael Pye and Daryl (Norma) Pye; his sister,
8Elizabeth Straughter; his brothers-in-law, Michael (Felicia)
9Evans and Ralph (Gwendolyn) Evans; his sister-in-law, Faith
10Renee' Kelly; his special cousin-in-law, Stephen (Darlene)
11Stewart; his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins;
12the HTP family; and cherished patients and many friends;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Dr.
17Harold T. Pye; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Dr. Harold Pye as an expression of
20our sympathy.
