HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The Members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to recognize Andrew Holzman of Hyde
4Park for his intergenerational, academic, civic, and community
5involvement; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Andrew Holzman graduated from the Phillips Exeter
7Academy; he attended the University of Chicago and will
8continue his educational pursuits at the London School of
9Economics, as he prepares for a career of public service; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Andrew Holzman interned and worked with the
11Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, the
12Massachusetts House of Representatives, WGN Radio Chicago, the
13Sacramento Bee, the Hyde Park Herald, and Rivet News Radio; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Andrew Holzman has actively promoted
15intergenerational age friendliness in Hyde Park and selflessly
16volunteered his time to help older neighbors with errands,
17household tasks, and yard work; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Andrew Holzman helped launch the Chicago Hyde Park
19Village Drop-In program to assist seniors in socializing,
20getting meals, exercising, sharing, and learning, which has
21become the foundation for other Village programs and

1activities; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Andrew Holzman frequently participates at the
3Drop-Ins to socialize, exchange views about Hyde Park and the
4University of Chicago with local residents, and advise them on
5the use of technology; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Andrew Holzman has forever changed the lives of
7Hyde Park seniors through his unwavering commitment to engaging
8them in the community; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11celebrate Andrew Holzman's extensive efforts and volunteerism
12on behalf of the Hyde Park neighborhood and area senior
13citizens and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to Andrew Holzman as an expression of our esteem and
17respect.
