SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Ruth Hurley Cullicott of River
4Forest, who passed away on September 3, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was born on August 31, 1911 in
6Oak Park; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was a graduate of Ascension
8Elementary School, Trinity High School, and Rosary College of
9Arts and Sciences; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mary Ruth Cullicott served
11her church and community; she was an active member of St. Luke
12Parish in River Forest for 43 years; she donated her time and
13energy to Oak Park Hospital, where she was the longest-serving
14volunteer for 45 years, and was involved in Misericordia,
15Trinity High School, and the Oak Park and River Forest Infant
16Welfare Society; in recent years, she spent her time knitting
17scarves, lap blankets, and baby blankets for the homeless and
18various other charities; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was preceded in death by a
20daughter, Ann (Larry) Martin; her first husband, Neil C.
21Hurley; and her second husband, George E. Cullicott; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott is survived by 2 children,
2Honey (George) Gfroerer and Molly (Richard "Whitey") King; and
3her many step-children, grandchildren, and
4great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Mary Ruth Hurley
8Cullicott; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Mary Ruth Cullicott as an expression
11of our sympathy.
