SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Leroy Morey of Bunker Hill, who
4passed away on November 15, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Morey was born on August 17, 1939 in Alton to
6Leo Edward Morey and Nellie Francis (nee Cleveland) Morey; he
7married Mary Linda Withrow on June 16, 1963 in Alton; he served
8in the United States Navy; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Morey worked for a number of companies
10including Owens Glass and the Olin Corporation; he also spent
11time installing underground telephone cables; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Morey was a member of American Legion Post
13578 of Bunker Hill and the Westerner Club; he enjoyed fishing
14playing darts, horseshoes, and being with family and friends;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Morey was preceded in death by his parents;
17his sister, Virginia Morey; his brother, William "Bill" Morey;
18his brother-in-law, George Edward Knoche; and his nephew, Ryan
19Edelen Morey; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Morey is survived by his wife, Mary; his 2

1daughters, Melinda Stauffer and Wanda Lucas; his 3 sons,
2Darrell Morey, David (Dawn Gaskill) Morey, and Eric (Shauna
3Burris) Morey; his 8 grandchildren, Cody (Bridget Meszaros)
4Stauffer, Casey Stauffer, Whitney (Richard) Wiley, Amanda
5Jaynes, Brandi (Craig) Womack, Caitlin Morey, Chelsea Morey,
6and Ryan Morey; his 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Marian
7Francis Knoche; his sister-in-law, Joan Morey; his special
8nephew, Ken Choat; his 2 nephews, Jeff (Terri) Morey and Ron
9Knoche; his niece, Tracie (Mike Seets) Morey; and his special
10friend, Joe Lucas; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13John Leroy Morey, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of John Morey as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
