SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Theresa E. "Terrie" Hall of Rockford, who
4passed away on October 30, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Terrie Hall was born in Rockford on August 8, 1947
6to Joseph and Theresa (nee Bernunzio) Gianquinto; she married
7Dennis "Denny" Hall on September 2, 1967 in Rockford; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Terrie Hall was the former Chief Executive Officer
9of the Rockford Area Association of REALTORS; she joined the
10association in 1983 and retired in 2008; she was named
11association executive in 1998; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Terrie Hall was a 3-term Trustee of the Community
13Foundation of Northern Illinois and Trustee of the Natural Land
14Institute; she was a member of the Rotary Club of Rockford and
15the Rotary Club of the Villages-Noon in Florida; she was also
16involved with the Midway Village Marketing Committee, the
17Chance Meeting Investment Club, the Par None Golf Group, the
18Birdies & Bogies Golf Group, the Guys and Dolls Golf Group, the
19Rockford Area Economic Development Council, the Rockford Park
20District Foundation, the Golden Apple Foundation of Rockford,
21and the Rockford Valley College's Tech Prep and Computer and
22Information Systems Advisory Committee; other community

1organizations in which she had been active in include the Klehm
2Arboretum & Botanic Garden, the Sara Ingrassia Jacki Confer
3Dictionary Fund, the Rockford Area Affordable Housing
4Coalition, the Rock River Business Development Committee, and
5numerous local, State and national realtor's organizations;
6she participated in ALS research studies, including the
7National ALS Biorepository Pilot Study, the Mayo Clinic
8Biobank, and immunephenotyping in ALS; she also helped found an
9ALS support group and worked to help raise money to persuade
10the local medical community to form an ALS clinic, which opens
11at Rockford Memorial Hospital in 2015; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Terrie Hall received the YWCA's Alta Hulett Award
13and the Rotary Service's Above Self Award; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Terrie Hall was preceded in death by her sister,
15Virginia Crittenden; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Terrie Hall is survived by her husband, Dennis;
17her son, Corey (Sophia) Hall; her daughter, Kari (Michael)
18Govignon; her grandson, Jackson; her granddaughter, Charlotte;
19her sister, Angie Goral; her brother-in-law, Ole (Pat)
20Prestegaard; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
22ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

2her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
