SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Karen M. Hoyt of Woodstock, who passed
4away on October 1, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Karen Hoyt was born on August 24, 1943 in
6Woodstock; her parents were Delmar and Isabel Carlson Shook;
7she married John R. Hoyt on January 15, 1966 at Grace Lutheran
8Church in Woodstock; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Karen Hoyt directed the Cherub Choir at Grace
10Lutheran Church for many years; she also worked at Dean Street
11Elementary School for 24 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Karen Hoyt was preceded in death by her parents
13and a brother, Eugene (Ruth) Shook; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Karen Hoyt is survived by her loving husband of 48
15years, John R. Hoyt; 3 children, Tammy (Michael) Thomas,
16Michael (Mary) Hoyt, and Steven (Michelle) Hoyt; 8
17grandchildren, Nathan Thomas, Maggie Thomas, Jada Hoyt, Jaxon
18Hoyt, Cameron Cross, Courtney Cross, Catherine Cross, and
19Christian Cross; 2 brothers, Robert (Joyce) Shook and Lavern
20"Ernie" (Mary Lou) Shook; and many nieces and nephews;
21therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
3family and friends, mourn the passing of Karen M. Hoyt; and be
4it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Karen Hoyt as an expression of our
7sympathy.
