SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dasie Lee Robinson-Hightower, who passed
4away on June 2, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dasie Robinson-Hightower was born on August 14,
61930 in Grenada, Mississippi; her parents were Johnny and Cora
7Lamon; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dasie Robinson-Hightower attended school in
9Grenada, Mississippi and received nursing training in Hayti,
10Missouri; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dasie Robinson-Hightower was employed by the Olin
12Corporation for more than 30 years until her retirement; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dasie Robinson-Hightower enjoyed visiting the
14sick and helping those in need; she also served on the Mother's
15Board at True Church House of Prayer under the leadership of
16the late Pastor Fred Woodard; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dasie Robinson-Hightower was preceded in death by
18her parents; her first husband, Edward Hightower; her second
19husband, Tom Frank Robinson; her brothers, Mose Lamon and
20Frankie Burden, and her sister, Clara Allen; and

1    WHEREAS, Dasie Robinson-Hightower is survived by 8
2children, Josephine Scruggs, Edward Hightower (Barbara),
3Calvin Hightower (Barbara), Clarence Hightower (Beverly),
4Eddie Hightower, Robert Hightower, Andy Hightower (Charlotte),
5and JoAnn Hightower Thomas (Bobby); 4 sisters, Essie Denton
6(Otis), Marie Battle (Jimmy), Mary Mays (Robert), and Joyce
7Burden; 3 brothers, Harvey Burden, James Burden (Gertie), and
8Alex Burden; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2
9great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins,
10and friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Dasie Lee
14Robinson-Hightower; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Dasie Robinson-Hightower as an
17expression of our sympathy.
