SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John W. Drasler of Waukegan, who passed
4away on April 22, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Drasler was born and raised in Waukegan; he
6served 2 tours of duty in the Korean Conflict as an Army
7reconnaissance armored personnel operator; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Drasler first worked as an architect at the
9firm of Extrand Shad and West in Waukegan; he later worked for
10Freedman and Associates in Chicago, Ottis and Associates in
11Northbrook, and in retirement, he provided consultation for
12Ruck Pate Associates; and
 
13    WHEREAS, John Drasler was a member of the Waukegan South
14Side Club, the board of directors of North Shore Trust and
15Savings, the Mother of God Parish Board of Directors, and the
16Knights of Columbus; he was a Ranger and a Keep Pace person at
17the Pine Meadow Golf Course and enjoyed creating beautiful
18stained glass designs; and
 
19    WHEREAS, John Drasler was preceded in death by his parents,
20Gasper and Helen (nee Kirn) Drasler; brothers, Tom (Marie) and
21Don (Susan); and his in-laws, William and Ann Thomas; and

1    WHEREAS, John Drasler is survived by his wife of 64 years,
2Pat (nee Thomas); children, Greg (Nancy Davidson) Drasler,
3Cindy Drasler, Cari (John) Vujovich, Connie (Dave) Walbran; and
4grandchildren, Alexandra, Peter, Emily, Katelyn, Michael, and
5Adison; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8John W. Drasler, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of John Drasler as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
